Lareen is a PhD student in the Cognition and Emotion Lab. Lareen received her master's degree in clinical psychology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Lareen's research investigates how cognitive biases interact with socio-political processes to predict personal and collective depression. Specifically, her research seeks to explore how race-related stress and racial identity interact to predict hopelessness and negative inferential style hindering personal and collective activism. Through her research, she seeks to develop an intervention that promotes resilience, social engagement, and collective empowerment among underserved communities.
